f you’re anything like I used to be, you’ve probably spent much of your life dismissing your talents and doubting your capabilities and been on the merry-go-round of self sabotage for some time.
In the early days, when I first started on my health and fitness journey, I would never have thought things would turn out the way they have. I always assumed that I was not capable of achieving anything much as my track record was rather shameful.
I always seemed to start with such determination and such focus, but somewhere, somehow along the way, something would always get in the way and I would fail once again, each time penetrating deeper into my self worth until I felt literally hopeless and plagued with self doubt.
Little did I know that setting a goal to feel better about myself would end up leading to competition and change my life forever.
I’m living proof that you can achieve anything you dream of if you only try and for the first time in my life I am happy with myself, I am finally comfortable in my own skin and I love life!
So how can you make the transition from average to awesome?
First and foremost, make sure you don’t give up before you actually get started, and be willing to say “I can do this”, not “I can’t be bothered” or “I’ll do it later”. Hint…You could even use little notes around your house that remind you of what you are doing and why.
“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now.
With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successfull”. Mark Victor Hansen
So…starting right now, make a promise to yourself that you will succeed, don’t worry about whether it’s possible or not. Don’t worry about whether you’ve failed in the past or whether you’ve got what it takes to succeed this time around. Just give yourself a chance, cut yourself some slack… and TRY!
