It is so easy these days to put things off until later. Truth is, later is usually NEVER and if you’re anything like me you have a million and one things to do and not enough time or energy in your day to get it all done exactly the way you’d like.
However one thing is certain, if you do decide to do it “later” the chances of you falling into that “NEVER” category are generally fairly high. So, if this sounds like you, then I’m sure you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Identifying your whole “do it later” approach and allowing yourself permission to stop thinking for just a moment and just enjoy yourself can work wonders even for the busiest professional.
For me that means taking five minutes break from looking at my computer screen and stepping outside to appreciate the sunshine. Rediscover the gifts of the earth that you take for granted every day. Look at the sky, stop to smell the roses, let your mind be grateful for all the natural wonders that nature provides every day.
Listen to your heart beat in your ears. If you are surrounded by the hustle and bustle of a busy city, appreciate the creative genius of human beings. There are always so many things we can be grateful for if we take time out to notice.
A positive outlook is one of the best qualities you can share. Do something nice for those you care about. Chances are the kindness you show others, will return to you twofold. Make a promise to yourself, just for a moment, stop, breathe and don’t worry about being better than you were yesterday.
Just be…
