Has anyone else noticed how the gym is less busy during our colder months? While training my clients in the early hours this week I have definitely noticed a drop in the number of people at the gym. It never fails to surprise me how many people look at training as a seasonal thing or as a hobby. And sometimes there’s even a quick scramble to lose a few kilos for summer or that special occasion.
I know it’s hard to imagine we’ll ever show our bodies again as we wrap up in layers and prepare for another cold Melbourne winter, but the truth is training does so much more than make you look good in your ‘kinis (although we love that too!) If you keep training throughout the winter months not only will you have a head start to looking fantastic for summer but you’ll be in a positive frame of mind throughout the winter months. Did you know that training actually releases positive endorphins in your brain? Your brain actually produces its own chemicals which can make you feel great after a workout. It’s just what you need to keep the winter blues at bay.
What winter blues? There won’t be any if you keep up with your training and eating clean!
