I was catching up with a good friend on the phone the other day and we were both so excited because our conversation wasn’t interrupted by our mobiles dropping out or losing reception. The reason for this is that I’ve recently connected a land line. Yes you know...one of those hand held large phones that you can carry around the house. We were like two excited schoolgirls “Wow..I can hear you so clearly!”

This seems like a step back in technology when we’re used to a tiny mobile with so many bells and whistles and even a whizz bang camera, yet sometimes not capable of delivering the basic functionality. It makes me wonder how sometimes the tried and true methods are the best. Take exercise for example. When it all boils down to it, all you need to get some great exercise is yourself!  One of the best exercises that you can possibly do for your body is a squat. If you don’t have time for your cardio today and are stuck at the desk, I challenge you to do some squats. My favourite quick fix for exercise is to do one hundred bodyweight squats (in sets of twenty five). It only takes a few minutes and you’ll be surprised how your heart rate will be raised and your legs and butt receive a great workout too.

OK because my desk is at home this might make it a little easier but I don’t think anyone would complain if you started a ‘squat break’ in the office and maybe formed a group called the ‘Squat Squad’ and perform them in unison. Just a thought and it might catch on!
