On Saturday night I was invited to a party. Sometimes these words can evoke horror to a would be competitor with the food and drink temptations. But it can be done!
Firstly I always eat before I leave, this way I am not hungry when to start with. So after a chicken and vegetable dinner I decided to wear one of my slinky numbers and get all glammed up for the party. The second trick was to pack a tin of salmon and an apple into my bag before heading off. This means, if I need to eat something, I will not be tempted to eat the little nibbles being offered.
On arrival I was offered a drink, and this is my party trick number three. I actually have sparkling mineral water in a champagne glass!! Seriously, there is something about holding that champagne glass charged with bubbles that puts you in a party mood. Maybe it’s mind over matter but It’s such a change from the plastic water bottles I normally drink from.
Party trick number four is to dance the night away. This is a fun way to burn a few extra calories. I had a wonderful time and didn’t wake up the next day with a hangover. So if you are invited to a party, go and have a great time. Just have some party tricks up your sleeve. Or a tin of salmon!
