A common question for anyone wanting to get into great shape and change their lifestyle habits is how to make the change for LIFE. I believe the biggest problem for the majority of people trying to change their bodies, is that they continually jump from program to program, and are always looking for the next quick fix! Trust me now when I say this...THERE IS NO QUICK FIX OR MAGIC SECRET.
The key to getting and maintaining your best physique is consistency, hard work and the big one...patience! Most of the population are continually jumping on board what they believe is 'the next answer' to their weight problems. I am a strong believer that there are a million different ways to the same destination. Yes, there are more effective and sensible ones, but when it comes to getting in great shape there are many approaches that work. What you need to find is a plan that works for YOU! That is right, something that you can incorporate in YOUR lifestyle for the rest of your life.
Once you have found a program that you are committed to, you need to practice just like anything else you want to be good at. You need to think of your nutrition and training lifestyle as a skill, and what do we do to develop a skill? We practice and practice, and in time we get better at it. The key to this is coming back to the SAME plan time and time again, until you start to get it right. When we fall of the wagon, and jump on a new one, you will never get the opportunity to see success at that skill. For example, think of hitting a baseball. When a person is learning to be a baseball player, what do they do to master that skill? That's right practice hitting the baseball. It doesn't make sense to after a week to all of a sudden start kicking a football. Then when that isn't working start hitting a hockey ball etc. To be successful at anything, you need to put in the hard work, be patient and never give up.
So, take the time to plan your nutrition and training lifestyle. Make it something that YOU can commit to and you can maintain. It may take a little longer than the 'quick fix' but I promise you if you take the time to master your new skill, you will live in your best body for LIFE.
