What is the ideal weight?

Do you find yourself chasing that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that you just never quite seem to get to? What is the ideal weight? I believe that it is unique to each individual and comes down to goal setting and setting something that is REASONABLE, ATTAINABLE and MAINTAINABLE!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's that time of the year again when all we hear on the radio and TV are commercials or talk about this one lovey dovey day of the year! I know it's an American thing and becoming more and more commercialised by the year but I still think it's cool! I hope you are all happy, fit and well.  I hope you are spoilt by that someone special tomorrow.  And if you are not in that place in your life right now, go out and give yourself some love!  Buy one of those little red chocolate hearts and treat yourself to a pedicure!  Go on, you deserve it!

New Year Resolutions

I will quit smoking, drinking, taking drugs and chocolate!  Ok, 2 of these have never been an issue, however I am a lover of chocolate and I do enjoy the odd vodka or corona!  Happy New Year to you all and may it be filled with good health, fitness, love and lots of laughs.  Have you made your new year resolutions yet?  Do you reflect on the year 2012 that was and start visualising a bigger and better 2013?

Amanda's Christmas Survival Guide

I'm really excited about the eve of December.  Do you get like the Grinch at Christmas or do you just love it?  Regardless of any personal circumstances, I love this month of the year.  Not only is it Christmas but also my birthday four days before.  It is that time of year that after 11 months of working and training hard it is time to take the foot off the gas and let your hair down! I just love the shopping madness, Advent Calendars (with chocolate of course) driving around looking at houses with Christmas lights on at night, carols, Christmas parties, time with family and friends.  It's so hectic but that's how I like it.  As a full time Police Officer I often work Christmas day.  This year I am fortunate enough to have it off.  I also have annual leave for the 2 weeks over the break which is the first time I have had that in 9 years!!  You could say I am pretty pumped about that. I plan on plenty of surfing, riding and even the occasional gym session!  Ok ...

Try to make me go to Rehab, I say no, no, no!

Hi Oxygen readers!  Picture me at a friend's house on a nice leather recliner with the tv on in the background, feet up, tapping away on my laptop, a meal of chicken and veg beside me, water and a heavily strapped left knee.  Rehab!

3 friends, 12 weeks

Put your hand up if you have done a 12 week challenge?  Ok put it down now, you look silly! I am about 9 weeks into my first ever 12 week challenge ran by Goodlife Caloundra.  This has been organised by staff and trainers at Goodlife who organise for us to attend weekly talks or group training sessions and provide us with ongoing support throughout the 12 weeks.

Has your life been touched by Cancer?

Has your life been touched by Cancer?  Well mine certainly has and I am sure most Oxygen readers out there could say the same. I can safely say that the first 19 years of my life were the best I will ever have and that is because they were the ones my Mum was around for. My Uncle on Dad's side passed on a few years after Mum so it is in both sides of my family. Glass half full though, I still have Dad around and 19 years with Mum is more than what others get. Doesn't mean that I don't hate cancer though!
